Austin tech company Zello announced raising $20 million in new Series A funding. This investment money will be utilized to grow product marketing efforts and hire a fresh batch of employees. Founded in 2011, Zello transforms smartphones into walkie-talkies through their app. With 170 million registered users, Zello was self-funded until this most recent investment round.
Security startup 443ID has raised $8 million in seed funding. Led by Bill Wood Ventures and Silverton Partners, this money will be utilized to hire cybersecurity experts to continue to build out this Austin-based startup.
Founded in 2021 by Stephen Shoaff and Mark Batchelor, 443ID sells open-source intelligence for the identity security marketplace. Their management platforms help authenticate, register and authorize users.
Colorcast, an Austin-based sports app startup, raised $3.5 million in seed round funding. Led by Next Coast Ventures and Capital Factory, Colorcast’s new funding will help grow its social viewing and commentary app. Colorcast is led by co-founder and CEO Evan Kirkham and in 2021 won the best speed pitch at SXSW Pitch.
Austin company Double A Labs announced closing a $3.5 million funding round. This metaverse tech company plans to use the new funding to grow its team with engineers, sales, and customer service employees. Founded by Amber Allen, Double A Labs focuses on using the metaverse to help train employees in an immersive experience and host hybrid events.
Reflex, an Austin-based marketplace startup closed a $4.5 million seed funding round. Led by Indicator Ventures, Reflex raised a total of $5.95 million to date. Reflex hopes to make a difference in the job shortage in Austin, helping retail workers find flexible scheduling and work at multiple stores. This recruitment startup pairs stores with employees to help retail stores find relief for staffing shortages.
