HeatGen, an Austin startup dedicated to making self-heating packaging for beverages such as coffee and other products, announced raising $8.7 million in equity funding. This announcement comes after several additional funding rounds, totaling $12 million since 2007. HeatGen is led by CEO Mark Turner, with board member and investor Walter Robb, the former Whole Foods co-CEO.
CynergisTek is merging with Clearwater Compliance and going private. CynergisTek, an Austin-based company, will be acquired for $17.7 million. This merger will allow CynergisTek to become more agile, with greater flexibility and investments in innovation. In addition, CynergisTek assists hospitals with privacy, compliance, cybersecurity, and IT audits. Once the merger is finalized, stockholders will receive $1.25 per share, a 112% increase over the company’s closing share price.
Austin-based startup WIN Reality announced $45 million in new growth equity investments. Led by CEO Chris O’Dowd, the new funding will be used to expand access to their training program, improve technology, and expand their team.
WIN runs on the Meta Quest headset using virtual reality to help players learn and improve baseball. WIN helps athletes practice their swings with a library of over 7,000 real-life pitchers and use nearly two million different pitches.
NeuraLight, an Austin and Tel Aviv-based AI-powered neurology platform, has raised $25 million in a Series A funding round. Led by Koch Disruptive Technologies with other backers, NeuraLight now has funding totaling $30.5 million.
Led by co-founder and CEO Micha Breakstone, NeuraLight uses AI to accelerate drug development and patient monitoring. They also use oculometric data to introduce care for patients with neurological disorders.
