Want to stay up to date on Austin’s latest startup funding, launches, and expansions? Startup Over Coffee’s weekly roundup of Austin startups to watch will keep you in the loop on the latest Austin tech news.

Catch up on previous weekly roundups here.

    Green Revolution Cooling

Cooling startup based in Austin, Green Revolution Cooling, or GRC, announced raising $28 million in series C funding, bringing their total funding to $43 million. This funding round was led by SK Lubricants, a South Korean petroleum product marketing company.

GRC specializes in newer cooling techniques for data centers, using liquid immersion rather than traditional AC systems. With the goal to reduce the energy and maintenance costs of cooling large data centers, GRC’s immersion cooling system is smaller and more energy-efficient than traditional methods.

    Data.world

Austin-based company data.world announced new series C funding, raising $50 million this month. This brings their total funding to $132.3 million. New funding will go to further Data’s global expansion and product innovation. It will also kick off a hiring spree, with goals to double data.world’s employee headcount to 200.

Data.world was founded in 2015 by co-founders Brett Hurt and Matt Laessig to develop cloud-native data catalogs that enable companies to access, analyze, and discover insights from data. Their services are used primarily for banking, insurance, and healthcare industries.

    Nudge Security

This cybersecurity startup just announced landing $7 million in their seed funding round led by Ballistic Ventures. Based in Austin, Nudge Security plans to tackle cybersecurity from a unique angle: people.

Instead of only focusing on the traditional cybersecurity routes, this startup focuses on human behavior. This technology nudges and prompts employees towards secure decision-making while it gives cybersecurity teams insights needed to further protect the organization and its employees.

    Ghost Financial

Ghost Financial, based in Austin, announced $2.5 million in pre-seed funding that will be used to fuel its launch. Investors such as HOF Capital, Hustle Fund, The Council, Cory Levy, and more are lining up to help this startup provide financing and business services to Ghost kitchens. Notably, half of the investors are women angel investors.

Ghost Financial provides financial support such as payroll, expansion loans, and credit card cashback opportunities for ghost kitchens, a trending concept that provides delivery meals with no storefronts. After owning a Ghost kitchen himself, CEO and founder of Ghost Financial, John Meyer, built this startup around the financial needs he saw firsthand as a ghost kitchen owner.
