Since the start of the pandemic, businesses of all sizes have had to adjust their operations for a virtual world. Luckily, Eventus Systems, a multi-asset class trade surveillance and market risk solutions company has been doing that since 2015. The company, which recently landed a $30 million Series B funding round, has a distributed team throughout Austin and globally. According to Austin Inno, 20 of its 55 employees are in Austin, and the rest are distributed worldwide.
Founded in 2014, Eventus Systems uses its award-winning Validus platform to monitor different asset types such as equities, futures, and crypto exchanges that keep brokers and sellers in check with the U.S. and global regulations. Eventus Systems plans to double its headcount and annual recurring revenue within the following year with its new funding money. Being a part of crypto trading and the addressable market can be difficult; however, CEO Travis Schwab is excited to see growth in these markets.
Austin-based startup GenXComm has recently secured a $20 million Series B investment. This funding round was led by California-based company Motive Companies with contributions from Raine Next-Gen Communications and BMW iVentures.
According to Austin Inno, GenXComm will be using its funding to grow its team’s headcount, primarily in its Austin location, and introduce years worth of development into the market. Launched in 2016, this company uses easily deployable and fully secured private cellular mesh-based technology that provides full on-site coverage that overcomes traditional Wi-Fi issues. As a result, GenXComm continues to see growth quarter after quarter. Although it’s still in the process of building the world’s first private cellular mesh network, GenXComm continues to grow quickly.
According to Silicon Hills, RealWork Labs, a startup that creates marketing software for the home services industry, recently closed a $2.5 million funding round. The software is designed to improve home service providers’ lead generation by using video testimonials, customer recommendations, and social media to improve their presence on the web. Even though this company was recently founded in August 2020, they already have 500 customers in every U.S. state.
With its fresh seed-stage funding RealWork will use this money to boost product development and hire employees to accommodate customer service and sales. Although the pandemic has slowed many home services industries, RealWork’s customer relationships and business endorsement have helped them keep these past couple of months afloat.

With over 4,000 employees globally, Unity Technologies offers all types of virtual reality content. Unity will be using the AI-driven platform OTO to create a safer gaming environment for its users.
Literati, a book subscription service, continues to climb up Austin’s startup scene as its growth revenue increases year after year. In addition to landing a $40 million Series B funding round earlier this year, Literati earned a spot on the Inc. 5000 list of 2021, placing 77.
