    GovOS Inc.

    According to Austin Inno, startup GovOS will be opening a new headquarters in Austin on August 9. In addition to opening a new office in Northwest Austin, senior vice president Luke Wilson and 20 new employees will be relocated to the Austin location. 

    GovOS, a branch of Dallas-based company Kofile Technologies, creates digitized forms for government agencies. The services provided by this startup help reduce processing time, eliminate errors, and overall make government activity simpler. As Austin’s tech scene continues to grow, GovOS picked Austin to locate their headquarters because it’ll aid the company in growing to its greatest potential. By the end of the year, GovOS hopes to expand its Austin team to 100 employees.

    Firefly Aerospace Inc.

    After seven years of development, Firefly Aerospace is finally launching a test run of its first rocket next month. According to Austin Inno, Firefly has recently raised $75 million in funding and plans to have its first launch on September 2. The rocket’s launch will take place at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.

    Significant growth has been a trend for Firefly, as they have already proposed raising $300 million in capital this year and employee count continues to increase. In just a few years, this Austin-based startup plans on landing rockets on the moon with the help of a $93.3 million contract from NASA. 

    Abrigo 

    Since its most recent investment, Austin-based startup Abrigo has reached unicorn status through the help of global investment firm Carlyle, according to Built in Austin. With over 2,000 customers and continual revenue growth year after year, Abrigo is currently valued at more than $1 billion and has finally joined the “unicorn scene” in Austin. 

    Abrigo provides technology for financial institutions that manage risk and drive growth. Not only does this service give financial institutions more accessible access to growing technologies and competition, but it supplies customers with more support and product innovation. Its recent funding will assist strengthen customer relationships, increase sales growth, and aid in future mergers and acquisitions. 

    Icon Technologies Inc.

    According to Austin Inno, Icon Technologies, an Austin 3D-printing startup, has joined NASA in producing a 1,7000 square foot structure designed to imitate what life might be like on Mars. Since building Austin’s first 3D printed home, Icon Technologies has contributed to other projects as well, such as working with the U.S. Air Force in creating a construction system mimicking the surface of the moon.

    Since its founding in 2017, Icon Technologies has also made big TV appearances. The Austin startup has been featured on both CBS Sunday Morning and an episode of Apple TV+ series “Home.” As of August 6, NASA is in the process of enlisting potential candidates to take part in living in Mars Dune Alpha. The application closes on September 17.
