    Aunt Bertha

Aunt Bertha, an Austin-based social care company, announced a $27 million funding led by New York City-based private equity firm Warburg Pincus, according to Austin Inno. Other investors who have previously been involved with Aunt Bertha, such as Pershing Square Foundation, Techstars Ventures, Noro-Moseley Partners, Digitalis Ventures, and The Social Entrepreneurs’ Fund, contributed to this round of funding as well.

Founded in 2010, Aunt Bertha is an online service tool, operated under findhelp.org, that provides programs and resources for anyone in any location. Whether it’s food, money, or health assistance, Aunt Bertha will assist you in finding the help you are seeking. Upon landing its newest round of funding, Aunt Bertha plans on hiring more employees at their Austin location and are looking for more ways to provide easier access to free and paid programs on their website.

    Firefly Aerospace

As stated in Built in Austin, Firefly Aerospace plans on opening 682 new jobs with an average salary of $90,000, due to an economic agreement decided last week. With the help of their new economic plan, Firefly is currently hiring 74 people in positions varying from engineers to IT managers. Two miles from their Cedar Park location, this Austin startup plans on buying 40,000 square feet of space in the Scottsdale Crossing Technology Center. From announcing a $93.3 million contract with NASA to raising $75 million in Series A funding, the unicorn startup has had many accomplishments this past year and is projected to grow even more in the years to come.

    Volcon ePowersports

Austin-based startup Volcon ePowersports announced a $17.5 million funding, according to a release. Volcon ePowersports is a company designing the latest form of all-electric outdoor vehicles. These vehicles, such as motorcycles and four-wheelers, are built for any type of outdoor activity. Founded in 2020, the main purpose of creating Volcon ePowersports was and continues to be to enhance the outdoor experience and preserve the environment by creating sustainable vehicles.

The money received from funding is geared towards increasing their electric vehicle production and hiring more sales, engineering, and production staff. The first vehicles are predicted to release in June or July, ranging from $2,995 to over $5,995. Volcon is already joining large electric vehicle companies, such as Tesla and Hyliion, and has already exceeded their sales projections for this year and next year.
